Fear and Unknown

When I was younger my best friend was my neighbor Kelsi. We always played outside and ran around. Occasionally we picked up the Barbie or two, but we loved playing outside. Next to my house there are woods and a home nuzzled in between the trees. It always interested Kelsi and me and sometimes our brothers too.

In the summer when it was still warm out and not yet getting dark in the evenings, Kelsi and I would dream up things about the people in the house. We thought it was a scary old person who never came outside, like Mr. Radley. We envisioned just about everything in that house. Him eating animals and scaring everyone. One evening we decided to go up and see with my brother and Kelsi's brother. We all walked up into the woods, but Kelsi and I got scared so we ran back to my house. When my brother and Kelsi's brother came back they wouldn't tell us anything! To this day we don't know what they saw, it was probably nothing. About a year after that, someone new moved in. A younger couple, pregnant with their first child. They are really nice and I sometimes babysit for them and their little girl named Lucy. But, Kelsi and I still wonder what our brothers saw that day.

First Day

My first day of high school was very different than Scout's first day. There are some similarities though. I was nervous and anxious to start high school just like Scout. I wanted to start school good with nothing really to worry about. Scout also wanted to be good all day.

There are also some differences. On the first day I didn't tell the teacher about someone being poor. I also didn't get in trouble for already knowing information. Scout got in trouble for knowing how to read and write, I would think that someone would be praised for knowing that.

Scout and i had very different first days even if there were a few similarities.

Hero Journal

A hero in my life is definitely my brother. He is a huge role in my life. My brother is the person that I look up to. He is very dependable, I know that if I ever needed his help I would get it immediately. He is always there for me and always will be.

I remember when I was younger my dad fell off a ladder when he was putting up Christmas lights. My mom wasn't at home that night and my brother and I helped my dad inside. My brother took full responsibility and called my mom. When she came home we all went to the hospital. I was scared and my brother comforted me. My dad hurt his knee and would later have to get surgery, but now he is all better. I know my brother would comfort me any time it is needed. My brother is extremely caring, and he is definitely my hero.
